Choosing the right glue is essential when assembling miniatures and scale models. The wrong product can result in weak joints, damaged details or a more difficult building process than necessary.
Our range includes three glues designed for different purposes: Revell Contacta Plastic Glue, TTCombat Superglue and Wargames Atlantic Hard Plastic Solvent. Here is how they differ and when each one should be used.
Revell Contacta Plastic Glue: precision for small plastic parts
The 25 g Revell Contacta Plastic Glue is specifically designed for plastic modelling. Rather than simply sticking the surfaces together, it slightly softens compatible plastic and creates a welded bond between the two parts.
Its most distinctive feature is the fine metal applicator needle, which makes it easy to control the amount of glue even in small or difficult-to-reach areas. This makes it especially useful for arms, weapons, accessories and other fine miniature components.
When should you use it?
Contacta is suitable for:
- kits and miniatures made from compatible plastic;
- small components that require precise application;
- strong and clean joins;
- difficult-to-reach connection points.
It is not suitable for resin or metal miniatures.

TTCombat Superglue: the versatile choice for resin, metal and mixed materials
The 20 g TTCombat Superglue is a fast-setting, medium-viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive. Unlike plastic solvent glues, it does not melt the material. Instead, it creates a strong adhesive layer between the two surfaces.
Its main advantage is versatility. It can be used on plastic, resin and metal, and it is particularly useful when joining different materials together.
For example, it is the right choice for assembling a resin miniature, attaching a metal component or fixing a miniature to a base when the two surfaces are not both made from compatible plastic.
When should you use it?
Superglue is recommended for:
- resin miniatures and accessories;
- metal components;
- models made from mixed materials;
- quick repairs;
- scenery pieces and basing decorations.
A small amount is usually enough. Applying more glue does not necessarily create a stronger bond and may leave visible residue.

Wargames Atlantic Hard Plastic Solvent: a strong weld for HIPS plastic
The Wargames Atlantic Hard Plastic Solvent is specifically formulated for rigid HIPS plastic, the material used for Wargames Atlantic kits and many other injection-moulded plastic miniatures.
The solvent penetrates the surface and slightly melts both components, creating a very strong join. The 30 ml bottle includes a precision brush, making it easy to apply a small amount of product along the contact area.
When used carefully, the brush can also help soften and smooth some fine seams between components.
When should you use it?
Hard Plastic Solvent is ideal for:
- Wargames Atlantic hard-plastic miniatures;
- kits made from high-impact polystyrene, or HIPS;
- assemblies with relatively large contact surfaces;
- hobbyists who prefer brush application;
- joins that should effectively become part of the model itself.
When working with an unknown type of plastic, always check the manufacturer’s information or test the product on a hidden area first.
